Stop, Breathe & Think
A platform for the education of meditation practices to children and teens, the Stop Breath & Think team approached me to design and produce characters and scenes to complement their in-app audio lessons.
It was our priority that each character be relatable to an African American audience in particular, reflecting modern styles and trends rather than over-glamorizing and drawing from archaic stereotyping.
This same approach and tone was kept at the forefront when building the scenes from their daily life - living spaces free from inclinations towards particular genders, socioeconomic status’ and geography. The lessons are for all children, and as such should include and surround them in comfort - a comfortable place to feel safe and to find their peace.
For this project, I worked as a one-woman team taking all aspects through concept through to production, modelling and animation, and finally to render and edit. I love taking scenes through the entire pipeline, and always have such a great time working through every aspect of the production to see the final piece.
Modelling was done in Maya, ZBrush and Marvelous Designer, scenes and lighting were setup in Cinema4D and everything was brought together for comp and editing in After Effects.
